Mud… UGH

It’s been raining for 2 days.  Dirt + water = mud.  Why is it that my dogs have successfully stayed out of the mud ALL DAY today until just now?  I know washing dog feet in the tub is exactly what I wanted to be doing at 11:45pm on a Saturday night when I’ve been drinking!
